All new business needs planning, again the level of planning and the analysis depend on the nature of the new business
The process of planning for anew innovative Business requires assessment of competition and seeing who would be potential customers would be.
It may not be always clear who your customer would be or who would form your competitor
Some kind of business need not need extensive planning, especially business which is standard business model and there are many such business already existing in the market, So if you are starting a new restaurant or clinic or such business which has a clear business model the plan is more or less straight forward.
But when you are planning on some thing new and which does not exist in the market, be it a new type of e-commerce or Mobile App or any such.
One such was when we did a plan for a Mobile App in Beauty, we came across issues which we never anticipated and it has nothing to do with technology, but every thing to do with how the customer saw that service and how they used the service , the app was supposed to be for ease of using the beauty service but in our research we found that the customers prefeed the present way of using the service.
This helped us make changes to the Service and how we position it with the customer
