The clients engaged us to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study for establishing a premium coffee shop and an associated roastery. The assignment involved extensive secondary research, including a review of published industry reports on coffee consumption trends, with a specific focus on the premium and specialty coffee segment. This was complemented by on-ground research, including visits to multiple premium coffee shops to observe customer behavior, service formats, and footfall patterns, as well as discussions with existing roastery operators to understand sourcing, roasting processes, and operational challenges. Primary research was also conducted through interactions with premium café customers and staff to capture insights on preferences, pricing sensitivity, and brand expectations. Based on the findings, we analysed the competitive landscape, including pricing, positioning, and differentiation strategies of leading players. These insights were translated into a clear strategic framework for the client, covering optimal location selection, pricing strategy, interior concept, menu design, and detailed operational planning, including coffee sourcing and supply-chain considerations.
