The client, a real estate landlord, sought to understand how to improve tenant retention within their building and assess whether existing tenants aspired to own the apartments they occupied.
The engagement focused on evaluating tenant satisfaction with existing facilities, identifying gaps in amenities, and understanding the types of enhancements tenants would value most. A key objective was to determine the likelihood of tenants remaining in the building long term and their potential interest in purchasing their units.
To achieve this, we undertook a structured research approach combining both qualitative and quantitative methods. Initially, qualitative research was conducted through focus group discussions to explore tenant satisfaction levels, lifestyle preferences, and long-term aspirations. Insights from this phase were used to design a comprehensive quantitative survey, which was administered across the tenant base to measure preferences, ownership intent, and key drivers of tenant retention at scale.
The findings were consolidated into actionable insights and practical recommendations to support the client’s asset-enhancement and long-term investment strategy.
